BYE AGAIN!

Hi everyone, this post going to be my last post for this lesson. I didn't realize how quickly time passed and I felt like my first post was like one week ago.

Throughout the semester, I enjoyed learning something new every week but it was a little bit exhausting to follow. This lesson was inspiring for our future classroom management style. We are living in the 21st century and integrating digital learning tools into our classes is very important. Because, in today’s world, students get distracted and bored very easily. For this reason, we need to make our lessons fun, interesting and interactive. So, I am sure that I am going to use digital learning tools in my future lessons.

My favourite task was creating AI-Integrated Teaching Material. Because the image-creating part was so entertaining and I used my imagination a lot. My least favourite task was creating a corpus-based material because I had difficulty trying to understand how corpus works. It’s been a long time but I still don’t understand why are we using corpus while teaching. I guess this tool will be the only one that I am not going to use in my future classes.

For the students who would take this course next year, my advice would be; this lesson may look intimidating at first but you should not be scared. You should know that this lesson will be very helpful in your teaching career.

Creating a Digital Poster!

  Hi everyone, today I am going to write about the poster that we are assigned to make. Unlike the other tasks, this one single person task.  In this assignment, we have 2 options. One of them is creating a movie poster about the book that we read. The other one is creating a magazine cover. At first I thought of creating a movie poster and choosing my book. But then I realized that these books already have real movies, so I changed my mind and started to create a magazine cover. To create a poster, I searched for a couple of programs to edit but then I decided to use Canva . Canva also has an application for telephone and I used that because it was easier for me. Firstly, I checked the present magazine cover template for ideas and I chose one to edit it according to me. I couldn’t decide whether to create a cooking magazine cover or a music magazine cover. Flipped Classroom!

Hi everyone! Today I am going to write about how to create a flipped classroom video. In our lesson Current Issues in ELT, we are required to create a flipped classroom video in pairs. Flipped classroom video aims to teach the lesson outside the classroom and create more time for in-class activities. In this approach, students will learn the topic from the video that the teacher prepared and when the students come to the classroom, they will be ready to do activities and practice. This approach has some advantages and disadvantages. The advantages are, by using flipped classroom videos there will be more time to practice in the classroom and learning progress will be more fun for the students. Possible disadvantages could be a lack of digital devices in students’ homes or technical problems like internet connections.
