Learning How to Use Padlet!

Hi everyone! Welcome to my blog.



Today I will write about our assignment in Educational Technologies class. Our latest assignment is using Padlet and creating a KWL chart there. Also this is a team work and I worked with Yonca, Yaren ve Betül.

Before making the assignment, as a team we thought that working side by side is more effective. So, we met at Yonca’s home and we made it by brainstorming. First of all, we searched how to open a Padlet and how to write on it. After finding the answers, we tried to use it by sharing some posts. Then, we customized it according to our taste. In this assignment we have limited topics and we should choose one of them, so we can decide our Padlet page name. We chose ‘Climate Change’ as a topic because we all know something about this topic and we wanted to learn more.  We made our Padlet name ‘Climate Change: Is This the Beginning of an Apocalypse?’  After these, we wrote 2 things we know, 3 things we want to know and 3 things we learned about the topic. These were what should we do.

I used Padlet for the first time while doing this assignment. It was a different experience for me because I didn’t use a page like this before. Actually I liked it very much and I found it effective. I think Padlet is very useful while doing group work and I want to use it in my teaching life.

Flipped Classroom!

Hi everyone! Today I am going to write about how to create a flipped classroom video. In our lesson Current Issues in ELT, we are required to create a flipped classroom video in pairs. Flipped classroom video aims to teach the lesson outside the classroom and create more time for in-class activities. In this approach, students will learn the topic from the video that the teacher prepared and when the students come to the classroom, they will be ready to do activities and practice. This approach has some advantages and disadvantages. The advantages are, by using flipped classroom videos there will be more time to practice in the classroom and learning progress will be more fun for the students. Possible disadvantages could be a lack of digital devices in students’ homes or technical problems like internet connections.
