Learning How To Edit In A Fun Way!

 Hi everyone, welcome to my blog. Today I am going to write about our task in “Educational Technologies” class. This task is digital storytelling and we have a couple of options. We should do it in pairs or groups, so Betül and I decided to work in pairs. We chose “HOW TO” projects and decided to give a recipe. 

This process was a bit difficult because we couldn’t decide what we should do at first. We also thought of recording a video about how to draw X but we decided on a recipe video. To record this video, at first we bought our ingredients for our sandwich. We both stay in the dorm, so it was challenging to find a peaceful place to record the video. After finding that place, I asked my roommate for her help and she held the camera for me. While recording the video, we enjoyed it a lot. When the recording part was done, I sent the video to Betül and she edited it with “ınShot”. After this, we recorded our voices at the school and added our voices to the video by using the same edit app. 

Overall, it was a fun assignment to make. Of course it was a little bit hard to make it but it helped us to learn about digital stories and editing a video. I said that we have other options too and the other options would be beneficial for elementary classes.

Creating a Digital Poster!

  Hi everyone, today I am going to write about the poster that we are assigned to make. Unlike the other tasks, this one single person task.  In this assignment, we have 2 options. One of them is creating a movie poster about the book that we read. The other one is creating a magazine cover. At first I thought of creating a movie poster and choosing my book. But then I realized that these books already have real movies, so I changed my mind and started to create a magazine cover. To create a poster, I searched for a couple of programs to edit but then I decided to use Canva . Canva also has an application for telephone and I used that because it was easier for me. Flipped Classroom!

Hi everyone! Today I am going to write about how to create a flipped classroom video. In our lesson Current Issues in ELT, we are required to create a flipped classroom video in pairs. Flipped classroom video aims to teach the lesson outside the classroom and create more time for in-class activities. In this approach, students will learn the topic from the video that the teacher prepared and when the students come to the classroom, they will be ready to do activities and practice. This approach has some advantages and disadvantages. The advantages are, by using flipped classroom videos there will be more time to practice in the classroom and learning progress will be more fun for the students. Possible disadvantages could be a lack of digital devices in students’ homes or technical problems like internet connections.
